threads of fate - issue one
Here are my threads of fate, what I’ve found out, what I am, and what I once lost. A thread of fate is a Hadean truth plucked from the dark, an ancient omen fulfilled, a deadened moment of childhood resurrected, a piece of soul given a body, an alchemist’s gold.
Pluto rules fate. Pluto is Eros. A thread of fate is an umbilical cord rooted in the shadow spun into gold. Pluto’s etymology is “riches.” The cover is a print of my ink drawing, ‘what a pluto transit feels like,’ gilded with genuine 23K gold by me. Each one is done by hand and features 29 pages of writing from softmoonrising essays and other threads I’ve shared. Each one features six pomegranate seeds you take willingly, just as Persephone did. Each read through is an alchemical bath, a rebirth.
The Greeks called fate ‘Moira: That which balances or avenges the overstepping of the laws of natural development.’ (from The Astrology of Fate by Liz Greene) The erotic has been mutilated and shadowed from its initial sacred meaning of aliveness. I’ve found it and with the precision of a surgeon’s blade, severed it from shame to restore its nature. Call me a messenger of fate. Call me an ancient erotic prophecy.
